

I feel I've wrung the whole "cute game becomes scary and cursed" meta pretty dry - I can only do that so many times with Catto, so I'm thinking of taking another direction with future games which hopefully should be interestingĪlong with the other things you mentioned which would've helped with the horror aspect, I certainly feel I could've done better, but I was kinda running out of ideas at that point lmao

I wanted to release the game just in time for New Years, as I thought that would be a neat surprise, but it didn't go too smoothly and I had to patch out quite a lot of bugs - in fact, as I'm writing this I'm about to release yet another patch! haha Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review! i really appreciate it a lot! (P.S. I agree with the previous poster about a new dedicated jump button, just make it the z button if you can? I think it would be much better, but do keep the up button jump just for people who prefer it) You can even make great games, well greater. You're a great dev, and to be honest this is one of the most unique creepypasta games in a while. I kinda wished you would have taken more time rather than just release it on New Years! I think I'd rather see you go through with finishing the plot of this game in the next, or creating a whole new one if you're already thinking that far ahead. I think this game is a turning point in the series, due to the fact that we've had 5 Catto Boi games and it's going to be hard to use the same plot point of "Catto plays through 4 very normal (and fun) levels before the Entity fucks him over again like usual, usually starting with some anti-piracy screen again and includes skeletons once again and some of the same scares".

it was basically the same "delete the entity's files from your folder but IF YOU DELETE CATTO YOU'RE HEARTLESS AND YOUR PC WILL SHUT DOWN! (even if that is a guilty pleasure to see)" like the previous, when I kinda wish the new attacking mechanic could have ended up with an epic Entity boss fight? I mean sure the Entity is some all powerful god or something but perhaps there was a way to make Catto be able to try and fight? It would have been a highlight and you could have even had the Jojo music. We really only collected one here and in the end it wasn't really the fragments that saved the day (at least I believe so?), it was just Minori saving the day again.Īlso, I believe that the ending was kinda just a little weak. At least in the Tuna game, the Tuna was the focal point and you basically won the story at that point, and collecting 6 gems was crucial to getting there. the whole story segment about the Fragments was so hype, yet in game it doesn't really help that much or come into play, so it feels a little useless. And while there was a start to the story, I kinda didn't like how it felt very similar to the 4th game.

the story started out really, really promising! The opening scene looked really professional and like it was going to start a brand new story unlike the previous games which were usually about him just doing stuff for the sake of it until he gets fucked over by Entity yet again. However there are some things which I wish were different.

I think the move should have been utilized more throughout the game other than just attacking enemies or being used only before the evil stuff. it is rather just one enemy for all 4 levels, if there was more variety it could have been even better. I do wish there was more enemy types here though. I also think the brand new attack move and enemies helps add more flair to the gameplay than other games, which makes the other games feel a little empty in comparison now. This game was great! I think you did well on the sprites, they look so much more dynamic and clean than previous games.
